ME Updates – Accolades, Pirates, and Queens

It looks as though all of our ME profiles are really coming into their own. We are joining travel groups, making friends, and taking great strides to interact. Our goal is to provide a community for people to converse and gain information about our resorts, exchange travel tips, and remain up to date about popular events happening in each city. So to say that we have really high ambitions for this project is an understatement.

Blog Updates

Cabo: About.com gives ME Cabo some recognition.

Cancun: Science Experiment – Mix one part Pirate ship with 4 parts tacky piñata… You may want to wear your goggles for this one.

Madrid: Queens of the Stone Age, Live February 15th.

Something to take note of if you are planning a getaway of any kind; our ME Cabo resort was recently recognized as your ideal accommodation. About.com released a list of the ‘Five Best Hotels in Cabo San Lucas for Mexico Virgins’. This accolade goes hand-in-hand with the goal of our social networking campaign; to raise awareness about the most lavish and accommodating resorts at the three most stunning locations in the world. While certainly not limited to the first-timer, we know that first impressions are imperative to a good time and even better memories.

We like to think that we know people pretty well; how they like to be treated, what they expect from an experience, their astrological signs. We haven’t yet perfected the last one, but the first two we have worked pretty hard to exact. We know that the last thing you need to be worrying about is whether the hotel you just booked is stocked with champagne for your honeymoon, or has a heated pool, or a facility to exercise so you won’t be forced to break from your routine; vacations revolve accommodating you, not the other way around.

Sol Melia, the proprietor of 350 resorts, world-wide, would like you to meet ME.  Not me ME, but you ME.  Because ME = YOU.  I promise this is not as confusing as it sounds.  The launch of this new brand is not to offer an “experience of a lifetime” or any gimmicky shtick of that nature, but to offer a lifestyle.

If there are any similarities between Cancun, Cabo, and Madrid, it’s that they are all places that no one would pass up.  If someone walked up to you off the street and handed you a plane ticket and a room key, would you not accept?  They may as well have said, “hey, now I’m not trying to put you in an awkward situation here… and you don’t have to say yes right now, but I have this ticket to a foreign country and a key to that country’s premier resort… and if you want them, you can have them… but like I said, no pressure.”  Your fiancé would understand, right?  Someone would eventually feed your dog.  You haven’t payed that collections agency in 8 months; is another month going to really matter?

But that probably won’t happen any time soon.  Times have changed; people aren’t wandering the streets handing out dream vacations anymore.  However, ME could be the answer to bringing a little optimism to that depressing little fantasy world I destroyed.

The goal of ME is to create an extension of YOU.  You should not have to sacrifice familiarity for something new, nor routine to travel the world.  The transition must be seamless.

The 3 ME resorts are situated in picturesque locations on beautiful beaches in Cancun and Cabo, and at the heart of one of the world’s most romantic cities, Madrid.  Each location is a source of distinction and therefore capable of satisfying a variety of tastes.   This flexibility only confirms Sol Melia’s vice-like grasp of the elegance and professionalism you should demand from your resort.
